3. What information about users does OakLabs collect?

Our primary goal is to provide you with a friendly, customized, and efficient experience and more importantly enable you to take full advantage of our Services. Therefore, OakLabs collects the following types of information:

Information that you enter while registering for or using Services on our website: When filling out a contact form, registering for a newsletter, an information service or any other service offered on our website, your full name and e-mail address are an obligatory input. Further personal information may be provided by you, e.g. picture, additional e-mail address, institutional affiliation and further contact details such as postal address.

Information about how you use the Site: When you visit the Site, we collect basic information such as your IP address to track and aggregate non-personal information. Also, we receive and store information about your usage of our Site including what features you access and the frequency with which you access them. Knowing this information allows us to improve the site and make it better fit the needs of OakLabs users and visitors.

4. How OakLabs uses your provided information

Communication: OakLabs uses your data to contact you in regard to specific information you asked for, information about changes to our Site and Services and special offers open to OakLabs Service Users. Should you opt-out, OakLabs reserves the right to send you notices regarding any open orders or customer service requests you may have. If you elect to use our referral features for informing a colleague about our Site and Services, we will ask you for the colleague’s name and email address. You agree that you have the required consent to disclose your colleague’s name and email address to us for this purpose. OakLabs stores this information to send this invitation and to track the success of our referral program. Market Analysis: At times, OakLabs will collect, retain, and make use of your personal data for market analysis. This data is used only in the aggregate. We may also provide and distribute statistical information to our partners about how often users use our Site and our Services.

Promotion and Newsletter: We will occasionally send you information on products, services, special offers or promotions. You may sign up for these e-mails on our home page. In order to respect your privacy, an unsubscribe option will always be available in our e-mail communications as well as by emailing privacy(at)oak-labs.com .

Newsletter-Tracking: Our newsletter contains so-called tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic embedded in e-mails that are sent in HTML format to allow recording and analysis of log files. This allows a statistical analysis of the success or failure of online marketing campaigns. Using the embedded tracking pixel, we can see if and when an email was opened by a User and which embedded links were invoked.

5. Will OakLabs share any information received?

OakLabs will not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal and professional data, other than as stated in this Privacy Policy and in the Terms of Use, unless you give us the written or electronically transmitted permission to do so. You should understand that no security measures are perfect or inviolable, and while OakLabs makes reasonable effort to preserve the integrity of the privacy structure at the Site and in the Services, you post your data at your own risk. OakLabs is not responsible for circumvention of any of our privacy settings. OakLabs cannot guarantee that the data you submit through the Site and Services will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. In the event of a security breach, we will notify the affected Users and repair the breach in a reasonable amount of time. SSL encyrption: This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content that you send to us as a site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by changing the address line of the browser from "http: //" to "https: //" and the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL encryption is enabled, the data you submit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Change of business: In the event of a change in business practices such as merger, acquisition by another company, consolidation, liquidation, or reorganization, User information may transferred or sold by us. If OakLabs GmbH, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired or if there were proposal to acquire OakLabs GmbH or its assets, User information would be one of the assets that are transferred as a part of of the process of sales. Were this occur, we would strive to require any acquiring entity to adhere to the policies set forth in this Privacy Policy. OakLabs GmbH reserves the right to terminate access to Users at any time with or without cause.

Agents and service providers: OakLabs works with other companies to perform tasks on our behalf and in order to provide information technology services to its Users. We provide these companies with the only personal information they need to perform the services we request and require that they will operate under consumer confidentiality agreements with OakLabs.

Adobe Typekit: This site uses uses so-called webfonts, provided by Adobe, for the uniform representation of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.

To do this, the browser you use must connect to Adobe’s servers. As a result, Adobe learns that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Adobe Typekit is in the interest of a consistent and attractive presentation of our online services. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of GDPR Art. 6(1) lit. f.

Google Analytics: If you agree to the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy, Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”) is used on this website. The use includes the “Universal Analytics” operating mode. This makes it possible to assign data, sessions and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous User ID and thus analyze a User’s activities across devices.

Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how Users interact with the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, Google will reduce your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Hotjar: This website uses Hotjar, an analysis software of Hotjar Ltd. (http://www.hotjar.com, 3 Lyons Range, 20 Bisazza Street, Sliema SLM 1640, Malta, Europe). With Hotjar it is possible to measure and analyze the usage behavior (clicks, mouse movements, scroll heights, etc.) on PCRdrive. The information generated by the “Tracking Code” and “Cookie” from your visit will be transmitted to the Hotjar servers in Ireland and stored there.
